Hybrid Web Cluster is a software product – a next generation cloud computing platform

Hybrid Web Cluster is a piece of software (or rather a suite of software) which runs on your infrastructure and provides a platform for your applications to sit on top of. This means in order to run Hybrid Web Cluster, you need to have some form of infrastructure to run it on – this can either be your own physical servers in-house or co-located, rented dedicated servers, or cloud server instances.

If you choose to run the cluster on your own hardware, the only fee you will pay us is the software license fee – this is a per-cluster-node fee for running our software on your system (with increasing percentage discounts as your cluster size grows). This is also true if you decide to run the cluster on virtual machine instances that you manage yourself either in-house or with a 3rd party cloud infrastructure provider.

We also provide a fully-managed service – you pay one monthly fee for both infrastructure and platform costs

For complete simplicity, we can also provision and host physical servers in a number of data centres and manage your cloud server instances on your behalf. We take care of the day-to-day maintenance tasks, leaving you free to interact with Hybrid Web Cluster entirely through its intuitive web control panel. With a fully-managed web cluster you pay us one monthly fee which covers both the platform software and infrastructure costs, we provide you with access to your own web cluster which will allow you to host any number of websites – scaling up and down as demand changes.

No matter how you opt to pay, you will receive our exceptional levels of customer support – we’ll be there every step of the way as you test the cluster to answer any questions you may have, throughout the commissioning and deployment process to help solve any last minute roadblocks, and on into day-to-day usage of the system to provide support, troubleshooting and advice.

Hybrid Web Cluster is due to start beta testing in September 2010

Early beta testers will be offered the chance to try Hybrid Web Cluster for free initially on cloud server instances, but later distributions will be provided to try on your own hardware. Beta testers will also be offered a discount on the launch price of Hybrid Web Cluster upon its release.
